Shelter Pet Data Alliance Table

Heart of Texas Partners in Animal Welfare Services or HOT-PAWS reports monthly intake and outcome data to two main entities:  The Shelter Pet Data Alliance and Shelter Animal Count.    Reporting data helps the bigger national groups to see local, regional, and national trends and helps them to better direct grant funds and trainings to areas or programs where they will have the most impact.

Shelter Pet Data Alliance is a free platform created by Best Friends to help shelters and rescues interact with their data, compare it with other organizations, and use it to save more lives.  Reporting our numbers to the Shelter Pet Data Alliance makes it easier to apply for grants through Best Friends and Best Friend Partner organizations, as well as giving us to review our data and make changes to our services and programs based on trends in our data.

Shelter Animal Count collects and shares data from animal shelters and rescues across the US and Canada in order to improve animal welfare outcomes.   Shelter animal count breaks out data not only by species, but also puppies versus adults, which can better provide HOT-PAWS with information about where we need to better direct our marketing and transfer/transport efforts.
