HOT-PAWS Partnerships
Heart of Texas Partners in Animal Welfare Services or HOT-PAWS believes Partnerships Save More Lives and we demonstrate that by frequently partnering with other local and regional partners to work together to help make rescues happen.
HOT-PAWS transfers in dogs from local and regional shelters and rescues in order to help vet or rehabilitate dogs or facilitate transports or transfers out to other partners who may be better able to place a particular dog. We also work together with other local and regional groups to allow us to help rescue more animals.
HOT-PAWS has recently worked with local and regional partners to rescue or transfer out dogs for rehoming, including: City of Corsicana Animal Shelter, City of Mexia Animal Services, Pet Circle (City of Waco Animal Shelter), Hill County Paw Pals, Lancaster Animal Shelter, City of Groesbeck Animal Services, AJK Family Rescue, Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter, Sasha's Pals, Saving Hope Animal Rescue, Living Grace Canine Ranch, and others.
HOT-PAWS has a special partnership agreement with Barking Mad Animal Rescue and Transport that helps get dogs to great homes in Eastern Canada! We cover all vetting costs for dogs we transfer to them, while they cover the transport and customs costs. This is a win-win partnership for both organizations and allows us both to save more dogs and get them into homes! We are always open to new local and regional partners!
Through our out of state partnerships with other rescues and shelters, we have been able to get our rescued dogs to good homes in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, North Carolina, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, California, and Washington. We are always open to new out of state partnerships!
HOT-PAWS is a current Best Friends Network Partner (will contact our Best Friends Liaison to see if there is some type of partnership logo). The Best Friends Network is made up of thousands of public and private shelters, rescue groups, spay/neuter organizations and other animal welfare groups, all working to save the lives of dogs and cats in communities like yours across the country. Being a Best Friend's Network Partner makes us eligible to apply for a variety of grants. HOT-PAWS has received several Best Friends Grants during the past year.
Additionally- we recently collaborated with the City of Corsicana Animal Shelter and De Hart Veterinary Services ( in process of changing name to The Spay Neuter Project) on a Rachael Ray Grant through Best Friends for $15,000 to help fix City of Corsicana Pets and increase their lifesaving abilities. Although this grant did not benefit HOT-PAWS directly, it has helped to save more animal lives in our local area by helping the Corsicana Shelter to adopt out and transfer out more pets.
